‘Every day is a school day’ even with ‘the best laid plans’

Before Christmas, I decided to bolster our CurTec stock to avoid ordering in January. I bet you can guess why – Brexit challenges!

CurTec High Performance Packaging is manufactured in Rijen in the Netherlands, which means we’re now importing these goods from the EU to the UK.  The picture is of one of my favourite CurTec products, the wide neck drum. The screw top lid looks unique and is so easy to use, plus the rubber gasket in the lid offers a barrier against moisture ingress.

Anyway, as the saying goes – ‘The best laid plans…’ We’re already moving more CurTec stock than normal and are in discussions with new and existing customers to source more packaging lines. Meaning, I’m about to encounter the new paperwork and processes much sooner than predicted. Thankfully, we have appointed a broker who has provided amazing support. I feel confident they will smoothly guide us through the new customs clearances processes with minimal hiccups and delays – fingers crossed!

One of my favourite quotes is ‘every day is a school day’ – so even if there are challenges along the way, we will take it in our stride and keep improving and moving forward.

Do you have any ‘pearls of wisdom’ you can offer me on the new import processes? Sorry, I couldn’t resist using another saying!
