Swapping the warehouse for the boxing ring

Our Warehouse Manager, Chris, has been in training for a charity White Collar Boxing event (WCB). He has been working out twice weekly with a professional boxing trainer as well as hitting the gym, pounding the pavements and following a strict high protein diet. He’s in the best shape ever… there’s no need for a forklift truck now, he’ll be lifting those IBCs single handily!

The charity boxing match was due to take place in July, in support of Cancer Research UK. However, due to covid restrictions, it was moved to September. The time delay meant that Chris received double the amount of training. At one point, we thought he was going to turn semi-professional.

Chris walked out to his own music with the crowd cheering and spotlights beaming as he stepped through the ropes. It was a close fight, with Chris’s opponent winning (he had army boxing experience!). Although Chris didn’t win, he loved the experience and the rest of us enjoyed a good night out supporting him. The boy did us proud, especially with the event raising more than £11,000 for charity.

What charity sporting events are you getting involved in, did anyone run the London marathon last weekend in the city or perhaps virtually?
