The start of a great relationship…..and no, I don’t mean my relationship with hair nets!!!

This week I spent two days at the CurTec head office and manufacturing plant in Rijen, the Netherlands. It was such a worthwhile trip, I met so many great people….in actual fact I think I was introduced to virtually everyone and saw every nook and cranny of the entire CurTec site.   I had a full tour of the production facility, where all elements of the CurTec containers are produced, from the injection moulded lids and handles to the blow moulded container bodies in all shapes, sizes and colours.

The Head of Project Engineering, personally gave me a detailed overview of the latest machinery and robotic installations, as well as a roadmap of the future expansion and development of the production facility.   Bringing more efficiencies and increased production capacity.   I have to say, this guy was so passionate about his job, the production process and the CurTec products, I came away buzzing with enthusiasm.

It was a real marvel, especially to see all elements of the containers being made in-house and not externally sourced.   As a recycler and reconditioner, I was particularly impressed with learning about the waste plastic from the blow moulding process.   This waste is granulated onsite and made into other products such as UN crates, the container handles and plastic pallets.

Taking time out to visit our new supplier really is an excellent way to mark the beginning of a great partnership. It just goes to show, there’s no truer statement – “the more you put in, the more you get out”.   I’ve learnt so much more about the company ethos, their products, the R&D dept and the overall production facility.   It was an invaluable couple of days which will help PurePac successfully grow as a CurTec partner.
