Virtual Reality Packaging in a Tomb?!

Last week I talked about my visit to the Saatchi Gallery to view the Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, Tutankhamun.   With so many interesting facts to talk about, I omitted to tell you about my 360 degrees virtual reality experience.

I am not sure I should admit this, as it is probably showing my age but this was my very first virtual reality encounter…well that’s if you dismiss my nightmares, as they normally feel like I’m in a virtual reality horror show!

So, as you can see from my picture, I was sat in a pod, furnished with reality goggles and headphones.   I so wish I had a video instead of a static photograph.   I say this as although the virtual reality team fully briefed me on descending into Tutankhamun’s tomb and that the pod would have movement, it was still a shock and I grabbed the sides of my pod, like I was holding onto a real rollercoaster during a plunge, well more like a mini drop – just hilarious, I even make myself laugh.

Once in the tomb, you were guided around Tutankhamun’s treasures including the many ornate boxes and treasure chests filled with beautiful pieces of jewellery, statues and clothes.  I could spin around in the pod to take in a 360 degree view of this historical warehouse, full of 3,000-year-old packaging….I am pretty sure the UN date will have expired but the pieces look perfectly intact!

For a moment I wanted to start putting everything is neat tidy stacks, just like the PurePac warehouse, but then again maybe the Pharaohs weren’t as tidy as the PurePac team.

Give us a call if you would like a real-life tour of our PurePac warehouse.   You won’t discover treasures of silver or gold, but you will find many lines of packaging stock and you could even take advantage of some real-life warehousing space!
