About Us

Founded in 1974, and previously known as G.R & J. Atkinson and Atkinson Containers, PurePac continues to be a family run and owned business.

In the early days, the business dealt purely in the reconditioning and recycling of steel drums. We soon added plastic containers of various shapes and sizes to the product portfolio. We were in fact, some 30 years ago, one of the first companies to start reconditioning IBC Tanks.

With over 300 regular customers in the food & drinks, perfumery, pharma, and chemical industries, some of whom have been with us from the very start. PurePac has organically grown from strength to strength.

Until March 2024, PurePac had no dedicated sales force, and the vast majority of our custom had come from recommendations, and our reputation for high quality products and excellent customer service. We don’t believe in Sales Manager roles, as such we have now appointed a Customer Relationship Manager. Our CRM Manager is here to create and build relationships, someone who looks after our customer accounts, providing product and pricing information as well as technical and general support.

We have seen many industry changes over the last 50 years; manufacturing moving overseas, increasing exports and changes in packaging and recycling legislation. At PurePac, we pride ourselves on having the ability to quickly adapt to these changing circumstances, and to continuously offer our customers the right products and services for their requirements – at the right price.

Our business Mission Statement

PurePac recognised more than 40 years ago, that industrial packaging was not being recycled.  PurePac believed a vast amount of industrial packaging could be reconditioned for reuse; the outcome being a more positive impact on the environment, whilst providing customers with additional packaging options, at more cost effective prices.

The PurePac Logo

PurePac Logo

PurePac's logo represents its core operations of reconditioning, recycling and selling new IBCs and drums. The logo features an empty square symbolising an IBC, with arrows inside to depict the container's lifecycle. Each arrow colour reflects a specific business area: Pink for new packaging, Blue for reconditioning, and Green for recycling. The blue arrow remains within the square, representing the internal cleaning process, while the green and pink arrows extend outside, indicating recycling and new packaging respectively. The strapline, "new and used packaging solutions," clearly communicates the company’s offerings.
