Reconditioning Process

Our processes are not driven by automated factory production lines, we are hands on, at every single stage of the process, which is why the quality of our output is extremely high and surpasses many of our competitors.
Our step-by-step process:
Stage 1 – 1st Visual Appraisal
- A full assessment of the condition of bottle, cage and pallet is carried out to confirm the IBC’s suitability for reconditioning
Stage 2 – External Wash
- IBC is moved into the jet wash area
- Externally jet washed to remove all external dirt and debris
Stage 3 – Internal Wash
- Moved to the internal wash area
- Internally washed by a 360 degrees rotating spinner
- Water temperature is 80 degrees
- If detergent is required (detergent is only used on a small number of IBCs) it is filtered in via the machine at a ratio of between 2% and 5% detergent to 98% water
- The washing process takes approximately 2 minutes
- The operator monitors the wash process to assess whether extended cleaning is required
Stage 4 - Rinse
- Rinse cycle commences and will continue to rinse with fresh water until the water is clear
- The operator monitors the rinse process to assess whether extended rinsing is required
- All remaining water is sucked out using a wet vac
- The operator internally inspects the IBC to check that it is clean
Stage 5 – Drying (if applicable)
- The IBC is moved to the drying station, where a wet vacuum is used to extract any remaining water and steam residues. As the residual heat from the cleaning process causes water vapour to evaporate, the wet vac simultaneously removes moisture to accelerate the drying process.
Stage 6 – 2nd Visual Appraisal
- A full assessment of the IBC is undertaken to inspect the standard of cleanliness and to ensure the IBCs are suitably dry
- The valve is visually checked and closed
- ALU foil is applied with a hot iron
- If required and possible, a tamper screw is applied in order that the valves cannot be reopened
- A cap is placed on the valve in order to close the valve
- The IBC Top is replaced
- IBCs are stacked inside the factory to await collection
Stage 7 – Final Visual Appraisal
- Upon delivery or collection
- Before the IBCs are loaded onto the vehicle a final inspection is carried to ensure all IBCs are in good condition, clean and dry (inside and outside)
- A label is applied to each IBC providing the date of dispatch and the person responsible for the batch and the final approval
