You might recall that on the 1st of April 2022, the UK Government introduced Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) which applies to plastic products and components that do not contain a minimum of 30% recycled plastic. This tax was payable at a rate of £200.00 per tonne. Following the Government’s recent Spring Budget, an increase on the current PPT has been introduced, with the rate increasing from £200.00 to £210.82 per tonne, effective from the 1st of April 2023. 

This increase in PPT will impact all plastic packaging products PurePac provides, except those products made from recycled plastics. 

PurePac is continuing to expand its recycled product range with various drum sizes available, made from over 30% recycled plastics, meaning these products are fully exempt from PPT.
