This week involved a few desk moves... and me giving up my office!

With Ben recently joining the team as our Business Operations Co-ordinator, we wanted to position him right in the heart of the action. That meant moving Mark into my old office, freeing up his desk for Ben to sit directly opposite Susie.

If you've ever worked with Susie, you'll know exactly why that's the perfect place for Ben to be. Susie has an incredible ability to keep multiple plates spinning, always knows what's happening across the business, and works at an impressive pace. Simply listening to the conversations, questions and challenges she deals with every day will accelerate Ben's learning enormously.

As for me, I've relocated upstairs to a new office. I'll admit, I wasn't convinced at first. I like being in the middle of everything, and I enjoy the buzz of the day-to-day operation. But after just one week, I've realised there's a real benefit to stepping back slightly.

Being away from the constant flow of activity has given me more time to think strategically rather than just react operationally. As Ben continues his compliance and quality training with me and becomes more established in his role, I'm hoping it will free up even more time to focus on the bigger picture for PurePac.

It has reminded me that one of my most important responsibilities isn't being involved in every decision—it's creating the space to look ahead. Identifying new opportunities, strengthening our partnerships and improving the way we work, so we can continue providing the high levels of service and quality our customers expect.

Sometimes a change of desk is about much more than where you sit. It's about helping others grow. It also reminds me that the smallest changes can have the biggest impact.
