Supporting World Ocean Day
Even though PurePac’s HQ is at one of the furthest points from any coastline, we still consider our impact on the ocean environment.
The foundation of our business is built on reconditioning and recycling used industrial packaging. These ethics also filter through to the new packaging arm of PurePac, meaning we take great care in sourcing products from responsible manufacturers.
Since the introduction of Plastic Packaging Tax in April 2022, many of our manufacturing partners have launched recycled versions of their product ranges, including CurTec International, Mauser UK and Schutz UK. We want to give our customers as many green packaging options as possible.
We’re doing our bit by ensuring as many IBCs and drums are cleaned to be reused as many times as possible before being fully recycled. We also offer packaging made from recycled plastic. If we make sure packaging is reused, and we also offer products made from recycled plastic, the demand lessens for the manufacturing of virgin polymer products. We may only have a small positive impact on the environment, but as they say, 'every little helps'.
Please join me in supporting 'World Oceans Day' today, the 8th of June. Plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats to worldwide ocean health, so as well as better business practices and with the holiday season here, we need to keep our beaches litter-free too.
After all, together our small actions can amount to so much more than a 'drop in the ocean'.
