A: When it's an IBC.

Our Accounts Manager Lynne is superbly skilled in IBC spotting. Whilst camping this week, she discovered this topical 'packaging geek' update.

With temperatures set to reach over 30 degrees this weekend, coupled with 2022 being the driest 8 months on record since 1976, it's no surprise that people are taking extreme watering measures. However, there's talk about more regional water companies enforcing hosepipe bans.

The location of the campsite pictured isn't currently within a hosepipe ban area. This is just as well, as I doubt they’d get away with saying the IBC was being used as a watering can! On that note, did you know you can still water your plants whilst in a hosepipe ban region? Just make sure that you're using a watering can.

But don’t get caught out, as breaking restrictions could lead to prosecution and a court fine of up to £1,000. Washing a private vehicle, watering your lawn or cleaning your own windows is all a ‘no-no’ during a hosepipe ban.

Fortunately, the rules only apply to domestic applications, otherwise, we would be reconditioning our used IBCs using watering cans… and I'm not sure the team would find that funny!
