PurePac are Proud to be a Reconditioner ensuring industrial plastic containers are used more than once, especially when you start reading some of these facts and figures.
In 1950, the world’s population was 2.5 billion and they produced 1.5 million tonnes of plastic. In 2016, with a global population of 7 billion, the people of the world produced over 320 million tonnes of plastic. This is set to double again by 2034.
These figures are incredible and sadly every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans, negatively impacting all marine life and seabirds.
PurePac work with hundreds of companies, taking away their used packaging, namely IBCs and Drums. Our aim is to clean the packaging, in order that it can be used again. We are ensuring more packaging is reused many times before it is taken out of circulation and the plastic is eventually recycled and born again.
We are proud to be doing our little bit and we are always keeping our eye on the ball to see how legislation changes. The most interesting changes will come with the ban on single-use plastics. We could potentially see companies forced into passing their used packaging to reconditioners for cleaning, ensuring more used packaging is reused before its end of life.
