Hello longer days

Here’s an interesting fact. Today’s day length is 10 hours and 12 minutes, which is a whole hour longer than it was on 1st February when UK daylight hours were only 9 hours and 14 minutes.

Arriving and leaving work in the dark feels particularly challenging when you’ve had a hard day; so these longer and lighter days are making me feel more upbeat. With the hardest winter days behind us, I’m feeling particularly positive, especially when I arrive on-site with light in the sky and more WIT Transport deliveries on a double trailer bringing lots of shiny new IBCs to PurePac!

And of course, there is more to look forward to… spring is on the way. On the 1st of April, the UK day length will be 13 hours and 1 minute, now that really does sound like a big difference, nearly three hours longer. On the subject of the 1st of April, something else is happening on that day, something we all need to be prepared for – the implementation of the Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT). Please make sure you understand the new rules and processes so you can start enjoying the longer and brighter spring days ahead, you can find more information on PPT here.

If you have any April plastic packaging requirements and also have spare storage space, I advise placing some extra packaging orders to arrive in March. This will save you the PPT and give you extra time to work through your new processes and calculate the impact on your margins.

Get in touch if you’d like to talk about your packaging needs, we’re here to help.
