The Day of the Dead Drums…

PurePac is infusing an unearthly hallowed October with Mexican culture this year…helping a London hotel chain celebrate Dia de Muertos, or ‘Day of the Dead’. Our reconditioned steel drums are being used to create festive displays to mark the occasion.

The festival dates back to 16th century Mexico, where it’s believed that from 31st October to 2nd November, souls awaken from the dead to visit their relatives. Family and friends gather to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is commonly portrayed as a time of celebration rather than mourning, so we are not feeling so spooked!

At PurePac we love to see customers utilise our packaging in unusual ways, especially when it is used and recycled containers. Maybe we should make our own festive day ‘Give used packaging a different home and new purpose day’ watch this space…

Let me know if you know of any usual applications you have used packaging for, spooky or otherwise.
